OLED displays are increasingly being chosen by handheld devices due to their rich colors, compact structure, and lower energy consumption. Its unique glass structure is prone to breakage due to external force impact or compression between glasses during use. So OLED displays usually come with a layer of protective foam when they leave the factory, which can provide protection during transportation and use. According to this requirement, we have developed the PI series products, which use excellent impact resistant formulas and endow ultra-thin polyurethane foam with good impact absorption function. Our foam can have a better impact absorption ratio than other materials. And it has long-term reliable working performance.
Application location:
OLED display back pad (as shown in Figure 1)
Product features:
Rich thickness, 0.08-0.3mm thickness provides choices for various spaces that need to be filled
Good shock absorption, can effectively protect OLED and reduce impact damage
Good resistance to compression and deformation, providing long-term protection for equipment
Impact absorption performance test:
Use an impact sensor to test the impact force of a falling ball. After adding foam, the impact force felt by the sensor will be absorbed and blocked by the foam, so the impact force will be reduced. We record the reduced portion as absorption rate.
We simulated the drop conditions here by dropping 4.3g acrylic balls and 30g copper balls at a height of 30cm.
The above performance comparison shows that under this simulation condition, the PI series foam has excellent impact absorption ability, significantly better than other competitors, and will have a very outstanding effect on equipment protection. Of course, the simulation conditions and actual applications may differ. We provide reference for customers to choose materials by comparing the current available options. The PI series products are currently the best choice under impact conditions.
